Dr. Sarah M. Chang, a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist, is celebrated for her proficiency in cataract surgery, glaucoma laser treatments, and minimally invasive surgery. A proud native of Washington, Dr. Chang combines her local understanding with an array of medical expertise to provide top-tier ophthalmologic care.
Dr. Chang’s impressive academic journey commenced at Stanford University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biomechanical engineering. Following her passion for medicine, she returned to the East Coast to attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine, graduating cum laude. She earned early induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society in her junior year, recognizing her exceptional performance in medical school. She also received the prestigious Richard Susel Award for Clinical Excellence in Ophthalmology.
Her medical training continued with an internship in internal medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, after which she completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Chang is an enthusiast of the great outdoors. She enjoys hiking and kayaking, embracing the beauty of nature. She often spends her leisure time with her family and beloved dog.
